This set was inspired by the first part of Tolkien's trilogy, The Fellowship of the Ring, a mythical tale of right and wrong, underpinned by the belief that good will triumph over evil.

Each of the major characters has been assigned to the role of a chess piece that most accurately portrays their nature. The light side of the set represents the good side and depicts the virtues of goodness, loyalty and honesty, whereas the dark side depicts evil, malevolence and emnity.

The set is suitable for use with a board with a square size of 2 inches and the king height is 4 and 3/8 inches.

The Lord of the Rings Chess Set is available hand painted in colour, as shown, or in ebony and ivory tones.
